Lenire tinnitus treatment device
Coming soon to Soundful Silence Hearing!
A take home treatment device proven to reduce the symptoms of tinnitus

Lenire is a treatment device proven in large-scale clinical trials to reduce the symptoms of
tinnitus. It is designed to be used in the comfort of your own home with the support of a trained Lenire provider.

Lenire uses bimodal neuromodulation, a combination of soothing sound and gentle electrical stimulation to the tongue, to retrain your brain to pay less attention to your tinnitus sound. While Lenire is not a cure for tinnitus, it has been shown to significantly reduce the impact of tinnitus on day to day life.

What does the research say?

Lenire has been proven to be a safe and effective treatment for tinnitus in three large-scale
clinical trials, and with real world patients.

ï‚· Trial 1 (TENT-A1): 80% of Lenire’s first clinical trial patients had a reduction in
tinnitus severity (as measured by the tinnitus handicap inventory (THI)  that sustained for at least 12-months after treatment.

ï‚· Trial 2 (TENT-A2): 91% of Lenire’s second clinical trial patients had a reduction in
tinnitus severity (as measured by the THI) that sustained for at least 12-months after treatment.

ï‚· Trial 3 (TENT-A3): 70.5% of patients with moderate or worse tinnitus had significant
relief using Lenire when sound-only had no meaningful impact.

Following the success of TENT-A3, Lenire was awarded a De Novo FDA Approval grant by
the US FDA, creating a new category for tinnitus care with bimodal neuromodulation.

Analysis of 220 tinnitus patients treated with Lenire in Alaska Hearing & Tinnitus Center
further demonstrated Lenire’s effectiveness in the real world. The results of this analysis,
which were published in Nature Communications Medicine, showed that 91.5% of patients
had a clinically meaningful reduction in tinnitus handicap after just 12-weeks of Lenire.

How does it work?

How do I get Lenire?

Lenire is only available through trained healthcare partners and Soundful Silence Hearing is happy to announce that we will be adding it to our treatment options as of July 2025!

All our tinnitus clients are required to attend an initial assessment consultation (£180) where we will perform a thorough hearing assessment, including ear examination and middle ear function tests (if indicated), gain a history of your tinnitus nature, onset and impact and also discuss any other symptoms such as hearing difficulties, dizziness or sound sensitivity. You will be asked to complete a tinnitus impact questionnaire and measures to assess for any associated or underlying anxiety or mood disorders which may be contributing to your tinnitus awareness. We will also discuss any contraindications for Lenire.

Once we have a thorough understanding of your tinnitus experience, all treatment options will be discussed and an individualised management plan created which is tailored to you. If Lenire is the treatment plan of choice you will be invited back for a fitting appointment where your device will be calibrated to your hearing and tongue sensitivity. You will receive thorough instruction on how to use the device and have time to practice in clinic. Treatment plans involve using the device for 1 hour a day for a minimum of 12 weeks. This generally consists of two 30 minute sessions at roughly the same times every day. You will then be followed up either in clinic or virtually via Teams at around 6-8 and 12-16 weeks.

The cost of a Lenire treatment package is £3595 including the device, fitting appointment and two follow ups. However we are running an introductory offer of £3295 for any clients who sign up for Lenire before the end of July 2025!

Additional bolt ons such as CBT based treatment plans, hearing aids and tinnitus retraining devices are also available at additional cost.
